level of interest.
Technical Study Tours

delegations and industry partners. A comprehensive itinerary of inspections and guest speakers covering
the major aspects of the coal mining industry is offered at a technical level. Inspections of
underground and open cut mines, power stations, mining and transport infrastructure, port of
Newcastle and ship loading facilities are available.

The Coal Industry Centre coordinates educational excursions
for primary, secondary and tertiary students studying the coal industry. Specific
areas of interest include environmental, economic, historical and social impacts
of mining on rural communities. Students investigating careers in the coal mining industry
are catered for with career day opportunities to visit prospective employers on site.
